Capture

For this illustration I wanted to work on the idea of trying to capture youth and the lengths that some people with go to getting a certain "look". The image turned quite sinister when I started to think about different traps that are used and one of the most horrendous is the jaw or leg trap. I decided to use this in the work because of the brutal nature of plastic surgery, one of the methods that is used by people trying to re-capture their youth, butchering their natural features in the process.

eeeoow! Just as an image by itself (i.e., without the lipstick) it is very powerful because it forces the viewer to look at the purpose of the contraption and think about what actually happens -- the time between when the trap is sprung and the 'hunter' comes along.... horrible.

But and excellent drawing and provocative idea ;)
